FAQs

What therapeutic modalities do you offer?

1

My approach to psychotherapy is eclectic, meaning I draw from a variety of interventions in order to best fit your needs & desires. I mainly utilize the following evidence-based approaches:

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

  • Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT)

  • Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT)

  • Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART)

  • Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT)

  • Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT)

  • Motivational Interviewing (MI)

How long are the sessions & how many sessions will I need?

2

Sessions are 50 minutes long. Everybody is different, but many clients experience positive, effective, long-lasting change within 8–10 sessions.

We usually start with bi-weekly sessions (or weekly if you’re in a crisis), and then slowly taper off to monthly sessions (which look more like “check-ins” at that point).

Do you accept insurance coverage?

3

Yes. As a Licensed Counselling Therapist, I am covered by most insurance providers but each insurance plan is unique.

Be sure to verify that your insurance provider covers Counsellors or Psychotherapists.

Do you offer direct billing?

4

Yes, I offer direct billing for a variety of insurance companies.

If direct billing isn’t available with your insurance provider, a receipt will be provided to you so you can submit your claim after payment for reimbursement.

What are your fees & what methods of payment do you accept?

5

Session fees are $175 (sliding scale available for low-income individuals).

I accept cash, e-transfer, credit & debit cards.
